59th Omaha Sports Banquet
Presented by B'nai B'rith Omaha
B'nai B'rith Monsky Lodge
Founded in 1843, B'nai B'rith is the global voice of the Jewish community. It is the world's largest Jewish service organization, with a membership totaling over 140,000 men and women in more than 50 countries.
The organization defends human rights and fights discrimination throughout the world. It sponsors interfaith dialogues, promotes democracy and world peace, and is committed to Jewish unity.
B'nai B'rith has helped instill hundreds of thousands of young adults with moral and ethical values and a sense of Jewish identity through the Hillel Foundation on over 400 college campuses, including those at UNO, UNL, and Creighton.
B'nai B'rith provides senior citizens with quality housing and its youth organizations offer leadership training to teenagers. B'nai B'rith works to promote Jewish education and preserve Jewish culture.
Through community programs, B'nai B'rith membership reaches out to the hungry, the homeless, the handicapped war veteran, the elderly, and to victims of natural disasters.
Locally, the B'nai B'rith Charity Banquet is sponsored by Henry Monsky Lodge. Past beneficiaries of this event include the B'nai B'rith Youth Organization, the Jewish Family Service, Make-A-Wish, the Omaha Symphony, the Omaha Police Foundation, Pacific Pals, TeamMates and many metro area public schools.
In addition to local B'nai B'rith charities, contributions will be made this year to The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), Omaha Westside and Omaha North high schools.
All of the great B'nai B'rith programs are fueled by the generosity of people like you. Your contribution can bring new hope to a senior citizen; offer new horizons to a teenager. It is a sword in the unending battle against prejudice and discrimination.
Every day B'nai B'rith faces the demands and challenges of a complex and changing world. Your support makes our work possible
